Why therapy? Why now? The answer to these questions vary greatly…
…A recent crisis event.
…An affair.
…We have reached an impasse and are stuck in destructive patterns.
…We are at a life-stage change and seeking guidance.
…We want to enrich an already good marriage.
…I am longing for intimacy in my marriage.
Whatever your reason for “now” we are here to assist you. We hold the relationship as our client and embrace a collaborative, nonpathologizing approach. Instead of seeing people with disorders, we see destructive patterns. Our goal is to help you experience the elusive closeness in your relationship. Utilizing the research proven therapeutic process of EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), couples can find the secure connection they have been missing or strengthen their existing bonds to new levels of intimacy.
Why did we choose the picture of the Spotted Drum Fish to represent Couples?
Okay, this is where our sense of humor is unveiled. Spotted Drum Fish are also called hardheads and are known for the repetitive throbbing or drumming sound they make. We have found one of the biggest reasons couples seek therapy is their perception of their partner’s “hardheaded” refusal to change. Conversations are getting repeated with no change in results, much like the repetitive throbbing sound the fish make, and the disconnected feelings become unbearable. Therapy is sought as a relief of the frustration. We realize this does not depict every client.
