My diploma says, “Graduate of Trevecca University with a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy” but the real training continues living everyday life. The more I am exposed to humanity, the more I am convinced we all desire the security found in a connection with another person.

Whether I am at home in the familiar surroundings of Murfreesboro, TN or witnessing the interaction in a Fijian village, neither race, age, nor cultural differences changes the basic need for a secure relationship.

Unfortunately, attachment injuries in our present or past relationships can preclude us from experiencing secure bonds… and so, we dance.

I specialize in relationships looking at what goes on “in” and “between” people. The ultimate goal is to recognize, accept, and choreograph a new dance for a safe and long-lasting future.

My approach to therapy is systemic. I believe our relationships are the axis on which our lives turn, first with God then each other. If the axis shifts, our lives become uncomfortable and we need help. Therapy is the mechanic and EFT the tool that realigns the axis.

Additionally, certified with Prepare/Enrich, I use this resource to enhance couple assessment especially with premarital and marital couples.

When I am not meeting clients, you will probably find me outside. I have the privilege of being married to an amazing photojournalist who travels the globe and specializes in underwater photography (www.seascapesimages.com). He says I’m his favorite shark bait! When at home, our “adventures” include family, friends, small group and church at World Outreach Church in Murfreesboro, TN.
