Is today your last day?

Will the world will end on 21 December 2012, at 11:11 UTC?

The Mayan calendar completes its current “Great Cycle” of the Long Count on the 13th baktun, on 13.0.0.0.0. Using the most common conversion to our modern calendar (the Gregorian calendar) the end of the “Great Cycle” corresponds to 11:11 Universal Time (UTC), December 21, 2012, hence the myriad of doomsday prophecies surrounding this date.

However, Scripture gives us an insight into the time in Acts 1:7
He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.” And again in Revelation, yet this time with a “beware” clause – Revelation 3:3
Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.

The bottom line is that we should not need a “doomsday warning” to tell our family and friends how much they mean in our lives. We should not need a calendar to repent of our errors and walk in a better life.

If today IS the last day of your life and mine, let me be clear, I LOVE YOU and thank you for being a part of my life. (Shouldn’t every day be lived this way?) Christian counseling or marital therapy can help you find a multitude of ways for your partner to receive this message. We do not always give love with words. Let us help your partner “hear” the message you long to share.
