Loving Through the Pain of Loss

What if Newton, CT. isn’t the senseless tragedy we all felt as the horror filled our hearts? What if, instead, it becomes the springboard for purpose? What if people everywhere begin to reevaluate their limited number of days? What if the shortness of the lives of these kindergarteners inspired you to recognize your own mortality? What if today you make the choice to bow your knee and ask God to forgive you? What if you recommit to your spouse and vow to love, honor and cherish like never before? What if you reach across the “broken fence” to mend a relationship between parent and child? Then the words of a Lord who knows how we feel (John 6:12 AMP “Gather up now the fragments (the broken pieces [of our hearts*] that are left over), so that nothing may be lost and wasted.” Let us all be pro-active because we realize we absolutely do not know when we will feel the permanency death brings. Let us keep circulating and post stories of how these children brought repair into our lives. Give their life and death tangible value and I pray it brings healing to their families.
